Competition Classes

 

GT2

The GT2 classes is for cars with engines over 4.5L with the relevant equivalency factor applied. These will typically be Ford or GM V8s and large capacity Turbo engines (over 2.6L) such as Nissan Skylines and Mazda 20B Turbos and Quad Rotor engines. The Maximum capacity is 6L and gearboxes are restricted to 4 speed when a V8 is fitted to a spaceframe chassis. Detailed regulations are listed in the Technical Regulations.

GT3

GT3 is for cars with engines capacities between 3.5L and 4.5L with equivalency factors applied. The cars competing in this class will typically include Mazda 13B Turbos and 20B non Turbos, Toyota and Nissan V8s and Turbo cars with engines between  2L and 2.6L such as large capacity Subaru and small capacity 6 cylinders. Cars can have either spaceframe or not with no additional restrictions applying to either. Spaceframe cars under 3.5L are also classes as GT3. GT4

This class is for non spaceframe cars with engines up to 3.5L with the equivalency factors applied. Typically this will include Turbo engines up to 2L, Mazda 12A and 13B non Turbo, Mazda 12A Turbos and all other non Turbos up to 3.5L.
